Sometimes, and this is where India differs from a lot of popular destinations. Risk varies by state, by altitude and by time of year, so a trip to one part of the country may need tablets while another needs only bite avoidance. Bring your full route and travel dates and we'll work through it properly rather than guessing from the country name.
Do I need a yellow fever certificate for India?
Only if you're arriving from a country where yellow fever is present — India itself has none. The catch is connecting flights and time spent in transit, which is where people get caught out, and the requirement is applied strictly on arrival. Bring your full itinerary including stopovers and we'll check whether it applies to you.
I'm visiting family — do I still need anything?
It's worth checking rather than assuming. Childhood immunity fades, and trips to see family often mean longer stays, home cooking, village visits and closer contact than a typical holiday — a higher-exposure trip, not a lower one. Children born here who haven't lived in India are in a different position again.
